2019
- Founded by National Scientist and former Secretary of Health, Dr. Juan Salcedo, Jr.;
- Organized in December 28, 1959, registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission in January 1960 and started its operation in July 15, 1960;
- Governed by a Board of Trustees;
- Operates as an assisting agency complementing and supporting the nutrition efforts of agencies in the government and non-government sectors
- Pioneered the organization of nutrition councils, now nutrition committees
- Adhering body to the International Union of Nutritional Sciences (IUNS);
- Member, Federation of Asian Nutrition Societies (FANS), Southeast Asia Public Health Nutrition Network (SEA-PHN), Federation of HAMIS winner in the Philippines, National Nutrition Council – NCR Regional Management Group, Nutrition Research Information Network (NUTRINET), and Philippine Coalition of Advocates for Nutrition Society, Inc. (PHILCAN);
- Accredited by the Department of Health (DOH), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and Quezon City Council
Community OutreachPrograms
Nutrition and Health Kiddie Class
- Teach healthy lifestyle and proper Nutrition at Pre School ages 3 to 5 years old
- Currently implemented in selected Day Care Centers of Quezon City, Alaminos Laguna
- In partnership with Children’s international – Manila in Quezon City and Calumpit, Bulacan areas
Community Nutrition Practicum
- Training for senior nutrition and dietetic students;
- Month-long immersion in selected communities with poor nutritional status
- Enhance program planning and implementation skills
- Use international standards such as ADIME (Assessment, Diagnosis, Intervention, Monitoring and Evaluation) format and the International Dietetics and Nutrition Terminology (IDNT) in assessment
Other Trainings
- Residency in Public Health Nutrition for nutrition graduates who like to specialize in community nutrition work;
- Leadership training for formal and informal leaders in the community
- Develop manpower resources in planning and management of community nutrition
Nutri-Garden School Program
- Teach students about health, nutrition and urban farming integrated in their 1st Quarter Technology and Livelihood Education classes;
- Started implementation in June 3, 2015 at Bagong Silangan High School;
- Funded with the help of Australian Government Direct Aid Program and supported by the Office of the Vice Mayor

- Organize communities and barangays for comprehensive nutrition programs;
- Plan and conduct nutrition classes for mothers, children and other population groups;
- Dietary counseling
Symposia
- Host various discussion of current trends/issues on health, food, nutrition and related fields
- Sponsor the annual Dr. Juan Salcedo, Jr. Memorial Lecture Series

- Provide resource person/speakers in food and nutrition;
