Community Nutrition Practicum (CNP)

  • This training immersion, which started in 1975, is designed for senior BS Nutrition and Dietetics students to be exposed in the field of Community Nutrition and Public Health to apply theories learned in Public Health Nutrition Courses in the community level.
  • Even prior to the proclamation of P.D. 1286 also known as the law in Regulating the Practice of Nutrition and Dietetics in the Philippines (ND Law), NFP was already pioneering in the undergraduate practicum course for senior nutrition students.
  • CNP started in 1975 with the Centro Escolar University (CEU) as the sole affiliated university with NFP.
  • In 1978 and 1979, the University of Santo Tomas (UST) and the St. Paul College of Manila (SPCM) were affiliated.
  • By 1980, there were already six cooperating schools with the addition of Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC), University of the East (UE) and St. Scholastica’s College (SSC).
  • To date, CNP has been existing for nearly 45 years with thousands of student-affiliates completing the training.
